History
There was little special about college student Alison Fagan until the day Braniac attacked Earth. Working in a studio apartment on assignments, she heard a loud commotion and got up to see, outside her window, a force field encasing the next building. Seeing the ship responsible moving over her own building, she rushed to exit the building, noticing a feeling of oppressive heat that she attributed to panic. Pausing in the building foyer to help two children who had fallen to their feet, she saw the support structures for the Brainiac bubble descending. She pushed the two children towards the open door to their safety, but was trapped herself. Strange energy flooded the building and she passed out feeling like she was burning up.
She awoke some time later in a yellow pod, and in a mix of panic and rage, pounded at the lid. Sat that moment her powers awoke in a massive burst of flame and heat, melting the lid of the digitization pod to slag. She landed hard on the metal floor and watched dumbfounded as her skin changed color to a deep scarlet color and realization dawned that the heat she had felt was hers to command. A garbled sound in her head slowly resolved into a woman’s voice, who introduced herself as Oracle and guided Alizarin in fighting her way off the ship. After escaping, she was folded into the hundreds of new metahumans taken in for training by the Justice League, apprenticed to Batman due to her nanomachine based thermal powers.

Powers
Alizarin possesses Fire based powers stemming from self-replicating nanoreactors in her body tissues. These were created by modifications to her body inflicted by the exobytes released by a future version of Lex Luthor into the atmosphere a few days prior to Brainiac’s invasion. She is capable of producing zones of intense flame and thermal energy, emanating from her own body or nearby. She is also capable of causing these zones, once established, to release all their energy at once causing a detonation of tremendous but relatively contained force. Her base body temperature is elevated as a result, and tends to climb if she does not regularly dissipate the built-up heat.
She is also able to use the massive surplus of energy her body produces to fly by an as-yet uncertain process, and is quite fond of doing so to help bleed off excess. Her body has grown in stature to significantly greater height and mass, and is capable of using the produced nanoreactor energy to boost her physical strength. Initially able to communicate with Oracle via the exobytes in her system, Alizarin now requires the use of a durable, temperature tolerant comlink to do so due to the high temperatures her body produces destroying the exobytes over time.

History:
Illyana came to Metropolis with her father, zoologist Dr. Sergei Tigrov, 6 years ago when he accepted a position as a researcher with S.T.A.R. labs. Proudly, she excelled in school and helped to take care of her herbalist grandmother (secretly retired WWII Soviet heroine Vyedmastepee- Steppe Witch,)finding a love for running and science in her new Americal High School. Upon graduation she attended Metropolis University, studying to follow in her father’s footsteps.

On the day of the Brainiac invasion that all changed, however. Being the closest family to her seemingly frail grandmother, Illyana rushed across town to get her to safety on the first day of the invasion. To her shock, she found her grandmother is heated combat with Brainiac robots, tearing them apart with spells while shielding herself and other civilians. Unfortunately, the distraction of seeing the elder woman in action left Illyana vulnerable and she was struck by a blast by one of the robots. After destroying the remaining robots, Baba Anya rushed to her granddaughter and began a spell to heal her. The spell triggered exobytes that had been sitting dormant in Illyana for two days, causing the girl to not only heal, but to transform into her current tiger-human hybrid form.

Teleporting the unconscious Illyana to Sergei’s lab, she was able to reunite father and daughter before she succumbed to the stresses using her long fallow power had inflicted on her body. Illyana regained consciousness in time to hear her grandmother’s last bits of advice, telling her to use her new powers for good, and to say goodbye as the elder woman faded away, ascending to the spirit world.
After some time to grieve, Sergei was able to use his connections at S.T.A.R. labs to get Illyana a place in the JLA’s new mentorship program under the code name Tigris Altaica (the scientific name for the Siberian tiger,) where she has been learning to use her new powers.

Powers:
Tigris Altaica possesses several powers triggered by a combination of her heritage as a descendant of a magical heroine, exposure to strong combat and healing magic, and exposure to exobytes. These include superhuman strength, agility, running speed, hearing, night vision, and balance much like those of one of the great cats though at variably greater magnitudes. The limits of these traits have yet to be established and appear to still be growing.

She also possesses the power to generate hyperlocalised cold weather and ice effects, so far allowing her to generate damaging winds, armor herself in ice, and project blasts of elemental cold. As with her other powers these appear to be still developing, so their full extent is undetermined.
