rather then make a thread for both i decided to use this one for toph bai (hero) and techna samurai (villain)

The hero know as Toph Bai (or Angelica by her friends and family started life in the small Indiana city of Elkhart and for the most part life had been pretty decent she got decent grades in school (3.1 gpa) , She had been reasonably well liked in high school and most importantly (over all and in regards to the events that would soon transpire) a strong support network of friends and family
Then came the day that would change her life forever It had started off fairly normally , While on a trip to Metropolis with a few friends she and her friends had looked up into the sky as the sky seemed to shimmer for a minute before calming down . Wanting to call their families to see if they had seen what had happened her friends had run off to find a better signal. Angelica on the other hand had stayed for an extra minute. She had just started to make her way to her friends when she felt a stinging sensation, after that came what felt like years of agonizing pain (though she would later be told it was only 15 seconds) before she blacked out..


When she finally came too she didn’t find her self not on the street where she had been before or even at a hospital or doctors office but in some sort of pod , The story of her escape from what she would later learn was one of Brainiacs ships was long and exciting and a tale for another day Long story short her new powers over all things earth allowed to make her way across the ship she was on just in time to be rescued by supergirl (game wise I know it is supposed to be superman for a story logistically he wouldn’t have the time to save every single hero himself ).


After a short debriefing she had been allowed to return home if she was need for testing South Bend had a Star Labs branch she would need to report to but other wise she was allowed to go back to the normal swing of things while the powers that be decided what to do the her and the other newly created metas , tech gurus and magic users ) A week later She had been watching the news when Superman gave a press conference offering recruitment and training to and by the justice league and their allies

After taking the time to talk with her parents, her siblings, her closest friends and her pastor she had decided to accept what the league was offering. To that end she was taken (along with all the other earth based metas in the Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Illinois area to a base the league had set up near Pleasant Indiana There she had learned the basics or her earth powers from Atlee who taught her to not think of the earth as just a simple tool but as an extension of her will.


When it came time for combat training she had decided to go with the martial arts which along with bows, staffs and swords were being taught by a group of Amazons (if you were female ) With them she learned to use the martial arts as a way to call on her powers (including using the dust around her to make rock shurikens it was at this point she decided to call herself Toph Bai ( she acknowledged the lack of originality in the name)

After her basic training had finished she had been apprenticed to superman In the months that followed she fought all sorts of battles against all sorts of bag guys from random thugs to insane cult leaders to brainwashed hero’s All of these things caused her to delve deeper into her powers .

It was during a fight against the villain Killer Frost that nearly cost Toph her life she realized that no how far she thinks she has come regarding her powers and skills there is still a great deal more for her to learn so clad in a new uniform she stands ready to make her mark on this universe.

If there is anybody(s) that Sakura Kinjo (known also as Techna Samurai) blames/thanks for her current lot in life it would be her parents Born to Hiashi and Hiyori Kinjo (nee Kurosaki ) a wealthy business man and former model respectively who had immigrated a few years before. While she was well looked after by nannies and other domestic staff during her formative years , Throughout her life her parents expected the very best from her nothing less than an a- was acceptable and even that was met with derision.

The only relief she had from the near soul crushing pressure was the series of Cyber Samurai novels she had managed to hide from her parents (who considered such things to be utter garbage) In these novels she found a world not of black and white but of grays where what might be good for one character and his family and friends might spell disaster for an equally sympathetic character.


When she was 15 Lex Luthor gave a speech at her school regarding the future and their place in it. Honestly she hadn’t been paying too much attention. After the speech was over and luthor was shaking hands she was the only one to notice that a metal beam he was under was about to collapse acting without thinking (since moments thought would have had her shouting instead ) she ran and tackled him out of harms way moments before the beam hit the ground where he had been standing After everything had calmed down Luthor publicly thanked her and told her that if she ever needed a favor to call him.

When she turned 18 she drained her trust fund ( in the area of 20k ) told her parents to shove it and left for metropolis with the intention of calling in that favor. It was shortly after she arrived that the what she would later call exobytes fell to earth infecting her and resulting in her being kidnapped by Brainiac .

After her escape and rescue by Luthor she called in her favor and seeing that she had acquired electrical powers and super speed gave her a job officially she is on lexcorps books as a consultant for his electronics division. In reality she is one of his new legions of muscle (so to speak.)

Modeling herself after the cyber samurai of novels she wields her sword and her guns for Lex

When asked why she works for a man that so blatantly breaks the law her response is “Screw the Rules He has money.”
