I have in my experience found that this type of system does benefit the more casual player who isn't able to do the content as often, or at all, that everyone else is doing.
So while it is a great addition to the game, it won't likely change my feelings about green drops in 4 and 8 player content. |
We don't have the costs of crafting yet, but it will likely be setup so that it's not a replacement for drops. As you're playing the various content, you'll get most of your purples. But towards the end, you're more likely to get duplicate parts or get stuck on that 1-2 parts that aren't dropping. Your salvaged green & blues (and even duplicate purples) will make that piece. The only way this won't be faster is if you delete or sell your green & blues.
The biggest time saver in the announcement is probably the weapon box, especially if you're looking for one specific weapon type. I've gone through entire tiers without ever seeing the weapon I want.

Must have missed that part..definitely would be nice to not have to stress about what weapon to use every time you advance in CR. Especially if you happen to have a favorite or a specific theme for your character
