If by eventually you mean when the guild launch servers shut down, then yes eventually this thread will be locked.
but if you mean anytime soon, I'll direct your attention to this "Last post wins" thread which is the inspiration for this version of it...

It was opened back in July of 2013 and locked by the SOE community manager...who was then forced to reopen it. So...I hope you weren't expecting to actually win a prize before Christmas, LOL.
