INTRODUCTION

'The weather is perfect', Selena thought to herself as she laced up her sneakers. Clad in a pair of gym shorts and a 'Metropolis High' track team shirt, Selena was of average build and slightly shorter than most of the other juniors at the school. Because of this she didn't get to run in many of the meets due to her shorter legs, but she still enjoyed every second on the track. Selena intended to get in one more lap before the ride home and tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ear as she stood up. "Selena!" a voice called out and the seventeen-year-old turned to see who it was. "Hi Becky!" Selena called out with a big grin. The brunette returned the grin as she approached, pausing slightly to catch her breath. "Are you still coming over tonight?" Selena glanced over towards the field, a hint of regret momentarily crossing her visage. "Of course, Becky! I almost forgot though." Her best friend smirked, knowingly. "You're so scatter brained, I swear! We have to watch 'City Life' tonight! It's the final episode of the season, remember?" Selena threw up her arms in mock surrender. "Fine, fine. Let's get going. Your bus leaves before mine does." As the two girls gossiped and made their way to the other side of the school, neither of them expected the importance of an unknown, and unlikely, meeting that was taking place in the 'Watchtower' above them.
